Is the church still in Egypt?

Slavery is just another name for a lousy job with lousy working conditions. some jobs are better than others. Some jobs enslave us and some really help us get ahead. Therefore slavery is a matter of degree.

Also John 8:30-36

(NASB)Acts 3:22

Interesting that Moses is a prophet like Jesus

(NASB)Acts 7:39
“Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him, but repudiated him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt,

(NASB)Exodus 9:13
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh and say to him, ”Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

Before we can serve the Lord with all our heart we need to be set free from slavery.

(NASB)Exodus 5:8
“But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, therefore they cry out, ”Let us go and sacrifice to our God.”

Today we see the prevalent old wineskin attitude that our daily work obligations are more important than seeking God.

(NASB)Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. [29] “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. [30] “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The Lord wants us to seek Him.  He sees it as more important than our every day obligations.

(NASB)Luke 10:38-42
Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. [39] She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord”s feet, listening to His word. [40] But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” [41] But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; [42] but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

(NASB)Exodus 8:25-26
Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.” [26] But Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we will sacrifice to the LORD our God what is an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice what is an abomination to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not then stone us?

This is the situation today. The church has compromised into negotiations with Egypt (the world system). We have church organizations that work with the world system but this can never bring God glory.

(NASB)Exodus 6:8-9
”I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am the LORD.”” [9] So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.

I believe the church is in slavery to Eqypt (the world system) today. It needs to come out from Egypt to truly worship the living God.
